What a waste of time!!!
Well, what a waste of time that was!! before the Registrar had seen me he'd decided, from the notes, I needed a flexible sigmoidoscopy to ensure the currently unused end of the bowl was OK to join to the currently used end - so why didn't they arrange that weeks ago? that's where NHS money is wasted - in unnecessary appointments! At least he gave me the referral note there and then, so we scooted round to the Endoscopy Dept with it and got an appt immediately, it's going to be done on 16th August and depending on the result the reversal might be done in September!! - will we get to Crete this winter? who knows!

June update
Mr Shah doesn't want to see me for 6 months (Dec) so he can't be too bothered about the suspect lymph glands, now we just need to get the stoma reversal arranged this century! - they are talking August! seeing Surgeon 27th July hopefully to set the date.

Scan Results
Just seen Mr Shah for the results of last week's scan - why are these things never simple - YES or NO? He says it's mostly clear but there are a couple of iffy lymph noads in the chest which he wants to check out with the team.
He didn't seem unduly worried!
He will now get on and organise the reversal of the stoma - one less bag, Hurrah!!

May - be getting better!
Well! it's May, where's the year going! - I had a scan on Tuesday (11th) and see Mr Shah next week (19th) for the results!! clear or not clear!! If it's 'all clear' we can get on and fix a date for the reversal of the stoma, that will be a good day, 'not clear' - I'm not going there today!
The house sale has gone quiet after 15 or so viewings - building up for a real one we hope!
Got on Facebook, "at last!" some would say! interesting who you bump into! ghosts from the past!
Will post results of the the 19th soon as.

6 months on ...
It's been over 6 months since we started down this road - what a journey!
There is a bit of a lull in things at the moment, we'll resume in May with the reversal of the stoma, meanwhile I just need to get stronger. I'm almost 11st again but Zannie is trying to build me up to 17st before I go back in in May!
We've put the house back on the market - 3 viewings booked already!

March already!
I'm progressing well and putting on weight - but struggling with having other people doing jobs I would have done - and hopefully will be able to do again one day.
The garden is now looking good - thank you Mike!
The chippy is putting Suzanne's treatment room back to normal, the flat roof people are coming soon and the plumber is due tomorrow (Friday) - thank you Dorothy.
All this is to put the house back on the market next month so we can down-size, ideally to a one-bed flat in Caversham. Our plans to over-winter in Crete have slipped a year.
We went to see 'Alice in Wonderland' last night, strange but worth seeing, the 3D effects were amazing.
